During our pre-consult, I learned of this private beach that they are very comfortable and spend time with their extended family. As a bonus, the Olympic Mountains are across the water, and weather permitting, we’d be in an ideal location for some sunset pics, which is the best time of day to take pictures. The day of our session, the weather was looking iffy, but the sun came through for us. It was a perfect Washington evening for photos by the water. After briefly playing on the playground, they were off to the beach. A & E threw off their shoes and started into the water, finding treasures of shells, dead crabs, and seaweed. K’s activity of choice was attempting to skip stones. Mom and Dad did a little exploring of the beach on their own and then joined each child in his/her exploration. The tempting swing and sand on the opposite side of the beach became too much to resist. Tree climbing, swinging, digging, and just relaxing at the water’s edge soon followed.
After a couple posed pictures for grandma they were off again. Building sand castles, a game of tag, and checking out the nearby creek kept the kids busy while the parents chatted.
Time goes so fast! I cannot believe it has been a year since I first photographed the R family. I loved seeing how each of the children had grown and matured, yet remained the same.
