Welcome to Sparkson Photography! I’m Jennifer Jones. I am a lifestyle, documentary family, and newborn photographer located in Kitsap County, Washington. I am a military wife, former teacher, and mom to three wild, loving, busy boys and two active dogs. I am originally from Sturgis, SD. (Yes, that is the motorcycle place. No, I do not own a Harley, but I do enjoy riding them!) I attended a very small college in Nebraska and after graduating, my sailor whisked me away to Hawaii where we lived for nearly nine years, and I taught at a private school. The Navy brought us back to the mainland and the small communities of Kitsap County which we love and hope to make our permanent home.
I love being home with my family! I am able to see my babies grow every day, see their joys and struggles, and be fully present. I, like all parents, realized the moments of childhood pass way too fast. Photography has always been a hobby, but after having children, it quickly became my passion to capture, document, and treasure these everyday moments before they are gone.
My family is my inspiration for documentary and lifestyle photography, as well as the name Sparkson. Sparkson is a combination of all my boys’ names. It is what I say when I am calling all of them and when right name is just not coming out of my mouth. They know which one I’m actually trying to say- most of the time.
I believe family is everything! It is the most influential thing in our lives. Every person belongs in a family and deserves to have their true self captured and remembered. I believe in capturing authentic moments (the beautiful and the ugly) because all these moments combined are what we remember and what brings us together as a family. These are the pictures that trigger the memories of times forgotten.
Some of my favorite things are blue jeans, pen and paper, and ice cream. When I am not behind the camera, you can find me chauffeuring kids, folding a mountain of laundry, frantically searching for a missing shoe, cooking a healthy meal my kids may like (but probably not), and attempting to run a 5K.
I look forward to meeting you and your family, learning your story, and creating a keepsake that will be treasured for generations to come! Complete the contact form to get started.
